First economic conference to activate investment projects in Iraq, and bring out new opportunities

Under patronage of Prime Minister Mr. Haider Al-Abadi , a grand economic conference wasb held for investment projects in Iraq on 17 October 2016 and with partnership of the Senior Authority of coordinating between governorates and national investment commission, and under patronage of TBI, General Electric, Al-Noice for Investment & Emiya.

The most important focus of the conference is to activate investing projects that have not been done in different Iraqi governorates, also focuses on providing new opportunities for investing projects to be financed.

The conference were attended by a large number of governmental institution representatives, ambassadors, beside chairman of provincial councils, local and foreign banks among of which ( JP Morgan, Citi bank, Commerz bank, Deutche bank, Denska bank, Lebanon credit bank, Byblos bank , FNB )in addition to a number of Arab and foreign investors their goal to enter Iraqi market to vitalize our economy through the projects presented and discussed in workshops.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the first conference of its kind in Iraq that held workshops to discuss investment projects in all Iraqi governorates, that attendants were divided along with chairmen of provincial councils in addition to session leaders into four groups:

(Baghdad, Baghdad municipality, Karbalaa)

(Basra, Najaf, Diyala, Kirkuk)

(Diwaniya, Meesan, Babel, Salah-Din)

( Wasit, anbar, Muthanna, Thi-Qar ).

Workshops were made to be like meeting point between investors and governorates to find financial solutions for the projects on the table, and come out with a positive result that provides
Iraq with more investments and brighter future for economy.
